David in his Psalms - Psalm 56 (A)

 



Read: Psalm 56; 1 Samuel 21: 10-15

When I am afraid, I will trust in you. Psalm 56: 3



      Psalm 56 told us that when the Philistines had seized David in Gath. History was in 1 Samuel 21: 10-12 said, "That day David fled from Saul and went to Achish king of Gath. But the servants of Achish said to him, "Isn't this David, the king of the land? Isn't he the one they sing about to their dances; 'Saul has slain his thousands, and David his tens of thousands?' David took these words to heart and was very much afraid of Achish king of Gath.


       I have experience of fear. My servant girl has worked 20 days, but she asked two months salary. Firstly, she ran away for few days. By this Monday, she bought one sister who used those curse words on me. I was very afraid, but I have learnt to trust God. Even she owned me money for food, but I have perfect peace all understanding.

        Yesterday, God told me that I shall go to Lawyer office in town. I went there and I found the solution. If I have to give money, I must give her in front of lawyer. In fact, I do trust everyone, but my lawyer told me that why I don't make a contract. So that I don't need to loose all of money. It is very sad, I can't trust any man, but I thank to Jesus to whom I trust in Him alone. 

      Now We look into Psalm 56 of David:

(1) God's Name is Mercy. (V1)
 
       "Be merciful to me, O God, for men hotly pursue me; all day long they press their attack." That time, David was in fleeing from king Saul. Now he has faced Achish king of Gath, he was very afraid of him, so he pretended to be insane in their presence; and while he was in their lands he acted like a madman, making marks on the doors of the gate and letting saliva run down his beard. (1 Samuel 21: 12-13)

(2) My slanderers pursue David and many attacked  him all day long. (V2)

          Now David's slanderers pursued him all day long from king Saul followers. Many people were attacking him in their pride. (self-righteousness)

(3) Fear and David trusts God. (V3-4)

       "When I (David) am afraid, I will trust in you (God)." When they recognized David who kills tens of thousands more than Saul has slain his thousands' (1 Samuel 21: 11). David took their word to heart and was very much afraid of Achish king of Gath. but he talked himself, fear not, because I am David who trusts in the Lord. So that Trust can take fear away as David did.

       Then verse 4 said, "In God, whose word I praise, in God I trust; I will not be afraid. What can mortal man do to me?" David knew that God is with him, no mortal man can touch him who trust in God and because of God's word, David praise him.

(4) They twisted David's words and plotted evil. (V 5)

       "All day long they twist my words; they are always plotting to harm me. They conspire, they lurk, they watch my steps, eager to take my life." I understood what did David feel? I live in Africa, many people twist my words to attack me like David. They were always plotting to harm David. They were looking any way to kill him as conspire, lurk, watch his steps and eager to take his life. Wow! it was very tough for David who trust in God, so that the trust is coming and fear is fleeing away.

       Today we have studied Psalm 56: 1-6, tomorrow it will be verses 7-13. See you tomorrow!

        I thank you to pray for me for servant girl issue, we will go to lawyer office at 1PM and paid her a big money and settle down this case. Praise the Lord!      
 

       When I am afraid, I will trust God who is in control your dangerous situation.

Be still, and, Know that I am God (3)




Read: Habakkuk 2: 3, 3: 17-19; Psalm 62: 5; 46:10; Job 1:21, 19: 25, 42: 5

Find rest O my soul, in God alone; my hope comes from him.
Psalm 62: 5


       My baby finger of the right hand were very pain yesterday. Because the wind blew my gate door and as I pushed my gate, this baby finger crushed into door, I could not use the left hand to open it. Then I cried for help and then one African christian and one African man came and helped me. And finally my finger was out of the gate's door. Praise the Lord!

      Today, we continue to talk "Rest", I knew that I am blessed by all Scripture Verses. I thank to the Lord for the word of God who comfort me always.


(6) Rest for you hope.

       Habakkuk learns to rest God's appointments and await his work in a spirit of worship. Habakkuk asked all questions to the Lord. Why God used a wick nation to destroy Israelites? Then God told him in Habakkuk 2: 3 said, "For the revelation awaits an appointed time; it speak of the end and will not prove false. Though it linger, wait for it; it will certainly came and will not delay."

       Then Habakkuk knew how to trust the Lord with joy and stand on God's promises, not situations. (Habakkuk 3: 17-19) He has known "Rest" in God.

       Job lost everything, but he said, "Naked I came from my mother's womb, and naked I will depart (will return there). The Lord gave and the Lord has taken aways; may the name of the Lord be praised." (Job 1:21) And he was also sure for his God. In Job 19: 25 said, "I know that my Redeemer (defender) lives, and that in the end he will stand upon the earth. (upon my grave) Finally, he passed all test and God returned what he lost and adding back many times. So that Job 42:5 said, "My ears had heard of you but now my eyes have seen you."

       WOW! Job and Habakkuk have touched my heart to follow God, no matter what, I will never turn back. In Psalm 46: 10 said, "Be still, and know that I am God; I will be exalted among the nations, I will be exalted in the earth."


Rest in Jesus alone and He is in control all your situation! Amen!

Be still, and, Know that I am God (2)




Read: Isaiah 14: 3; Psalm 17: 8; Hebrews 4: 10-11; 2 Corinthians 1: 3-7; Genesis 2: 2-3

Keep me as the apple of your eyes, hide me in the shadow of your wing. Psalm 17: 8


       Today, we will continue to talk relief from suffering and  rest your work. Tomorrow will finish all topic, then we will go back David's Psalms with history events. Sit back, read it and enjoy your devotional time with God and Rebecca Sun.

(4) Relief from your suffering.
  
      In Isaiah 14: 3 said, "You relief from suffering and turn and cruel." God knew your suffering as 2 Corinthians 1: 3-7 said that our God of all comfort which is our needs.  Verses 3 and 4 said, "Praise be to the God and Father of our Lord Jesus Christ, the Father of compassion and the God of all comfort, who comforts us in all our troubles, so that we can comforts those in any trouble with the comfort we ourselves have received from God." God gives all comfort we need and one day, we will give others who are in same experience with you.

         So that you want to relief your suffering: it is God of all comfort. Try it and you will see the result. If we can relief  from suffering, we have a peaceful heart and rest in our soul. Praise the Lord!

(5) Rest your work for your body, soul and spirit.

       Hebrews 4: 10-11 said, "For anyone who enter God's rest also rests for his own works, just as God did his. Let us, therefore, make every effort to enter that rest so that no one will fall by following their example of disobedience." God wants us to rest our work, one week, we shall rest for one day. It will help us to walk a long way for God.

      We can back God's creation, in Genesis 2: 2-3 said, "By the seventh day God had finished the work he had been doing. so on the seventh day he rested (or ceased) from all his work. And God bless the seventh day and made it holy, because on it he rested from all the work of creating that he had done."  God bless the seventh day and made it holy, because on it he rest from all the works of creating. Even God did as an example for us. Why do we rebel God?

       I hope that you understand what I have written above. May God bless you with a good day and rest for your seventh day as Heavenly Father did. Then God is relief from our suffering and He is all our comfort coming from. Trust Jesus! I will see you tomorrow for last series!


God understands you and your suffering, He wants to offer his comfort to you as your Father. He loves you always!

Be still, and, Know that I am God (1)




Read: Psalm 46: 10; Exodus 33: 14; Matthew 11: 28-29; Psalm 55: 22, 16: 9; Proverbs 3:24


Be still, and know that I am God; I will be exalted among the nations; I will be exalted on the earth.
Psalm 46: 10



      I feel so tired today. I can't do the topic in those Psalms of David. I sensed that I need this topic to heal myself. Because nobody will believe what I have said or done! They pointed fingers at me. I need to trust and rest in God alone.

Rest principles:

(1) God's presence with go with you. (Exodus 33: 14)

      The Lord replied (Moses); "My presence will go with you, and I will give you rest." Sometimes, we need God's presence and we can rest in God.

(2) Take burdens off (Soul in Rest)

       Matthew 11: 28-29 said, "Come to me, all you who are weary and burdened and I will give you rest. Take my yoke upon you and learn from me, for I am gentle and humble in heart, and you will find rest for your souls." We need to take our wearies and burdens off us. So that we can rest in God with our prayer, or Holy Spirit intercedes for us. (Romans 8:27)

      "Cast your cares on the Lord and he will sustain you; he will never let the righteous fall." (Psalm 55:22) He will sustain you, because he cares for you, God will never allow the righteous one who fall in their weakness.

(3) Rest Secure in God

       Proverbs 3: 24 said, "who you lie down, your sleep will be sweet." It stands for you are no anxiety and worries. It is good for sleep sweetly. It is God who has given us.

         "Therefore my heart is glad and my tongue rejoices, my body also will rest secure." (Psalm 16: 9)  "I lie down and sleep; I wake again, because the Lord sustain me." (Psalm 3:5) And then "For he grant sleep to those he loves." (Psalm 127:2) After  "When I awake, I am still with you." (Psalm 139: 18) Another, in Psalm 4:8 said, "I will lie down and sleep in peace, for you alone, O Lord, make me dwell in safety.

      In conclusion, we need to declaim those Scripture Verses with our tongue. In order, we can rest and sleep well. Because God is with us when we awake every morning, for him who is faithful. Amen!

       Tomorrow, we will continue to talk rest again! I am here waiting for you!



 Be still or silence or rest and know that God is in control!

David in his Psalms - Psalm 59 (B)

Read: Psalm 59

.... Then it will be known to the ends of the earth that God rules over Jacob. Psalm 59: 13

       Today we will continue to explain Psalm 59 from verse 11 to 17; We will see David who was complaining to God and the end verses 15-17, he praised the Name of God who is David's fortress, his refuge in times of trouble. He has approved that God is good all time, Amen!

(8) Sovereign power to attack David's enemies. (V 11) He advised God's Sovereign power to bring them down and kill them.

(9) Because of their sins (V 12); "For the sins of their mouths, for the words of their lips, let them be caught in their pride. For the curses and lies they utter."  David said, "Behold, God! Look their sins with pride, lies... etc."

(10) God rules all the earth and destroys them(V13); "Consume them in wrath, consume them till they are no more. Then it will be known to the ends of the earth that God rules over Jacob." David reminded us that God is in control every situation.

(11) David's enemies would been punished  and they were wondering for food and they were not satisfied for food. (V14-15) David described his enemies like dogs with snarling and prowling about the city in the evening.

(12) David has sang what God has done. (V16-17) He said, "But I will sing of your strength, in the morning I will sing of your love (unfailing and unconditional love); for you (God) are my (David) fortress, my refuge in times of trouble. O my strength, I sing praise to you; you, O God, are my fortress (protection), my loving God."

      King David knew the love of God who never abandoned him, so he praised and sang to the Lord who would save or deliver him in times of trouble.

       Sometime we can't see God, but we can see his hands moving with our prayer. Hallelujah!


The joy of the Lord is our strength!

David in his Psalms - Psalm 59 (A)

The titles of 14 of the David psalms designate specific occasions of composition and contribute to a historical understanding of Scripture verses as follows (chronologically) - We will tell about one by one about 14 series for David in his 14 Psalms.

  Read: Psalm 59; 1 Samuel 19: 11

For the sins of their mouths, for the words of their lips, let them be caught their pride. For the curses and lies they utter. Psalm 59: 12


In first 1 Samuel 19: 11 said, " Saul sent men to David's house to watch it and to kill him in the morning. But Michal, David's wife, warned him, "If you don't run for your life tonight, tomorrow you'll be killed." and verse 12 said, "So Michal let David down through a window, and he fled and escaped." When David wrote Psalm 59 for this event.

We need to see Psalm whole chapter 59, if you have NIV vision of Bible will write For the director of music. To the tune of  "Do not Destroy." Of David. A miktam (probably a literary or musical term). When Saul had sent men to watch David's house in order to kill him. But his wife, Michal, helped David to flee. v

In Psalm 59: 

 (1) David asked God for deliverance from his enemies, evildoers, blood thirsty men. They lie in wait for me! (David) (V 1-3)

(2) Forgiveness: all David's sins. (V3b) Fierce men conspire against me for no offense or sin of min, O Lord.

(3) David is innocent (V4): I have done no wrong (no sins), yet they are ready to attack me. Arise to help me; look on my plight!

(4) God punished wicked traitors, because God is Almighty.  (V5) it said,"O Lord God Almighty, the God of Israel, rouse yourself to punish all the nations; show no mercy to wicked traitors. (Selah)

(5) Their evil doing and their powerful evil words. (V 6-7)  David described his enemies who were as dogs that were snarling and prowled about the city. And they spew from their mouths - they spew out swords from their lips, and they say, "who can hear us?" 

(6) But God laughed at David's enemies. (V8) But you, O Lord, laugh at them; you scoff at all those nations. (Psalm 2: 4 said, "The enthroned in heaven laughs; the Lord scoffs at them.)

(7)  David trusted God completely with full of protection. (V 9 -10) "O my Strength, I (David) watch for you (God); you, O God are my fortress (stronghold), my loving God (perfect and unconditional love God). God will go before me (guide me) and will let me gloat over those who slander me. (let my enemies received punishments for those who have done evil for me (David)"

Forgiveness Seventy-Seven times (Seventy times Seven)

Read: Luke 6: 37, 11: 4; Matthew 18: 15-17, 21-22; Mark 11: 25

... you will not be condemned Forgive, and you will be forgiven (release). Luke 6: 37

And when you stand praying, if you hold anything against anyone, forgive him, so that your Father in heaven may forgive you your sins. (But if you do not forgive, neither will your Father who is in heaven forgive your sins.)
Mark 11: 25-26


      Forgiveness, I do all time, it is very hard for me. Then forgiveness is not command, but it is my choice to forgive others, or not. But I believe that I forgive others, it is releasing my burden up to the Lord. I don't carry any more. And then he takes care for my behalf. Take choice today!

      Recently I got my spiritual son and a sister who talked wrong words to against me. I has told myself, I have never ever forgiven them. It has caused me a lot pains. But I chose to forgive them and release my burden to Jesus. I had another sand paper at home, she is my servant maid, I have forgiven her from time to time. Forgiveness is not make right for that person, but I make right with God. It is our needs.

     "Then Peter (one of 12 Jesus' disciples) came to Jesus and asked, "Lord, how many times shall I forgive my brother (or sister) when he (she) sings against me? Up to seven times?" Jesus answered, "I tell you, not seven times, but seventy-seven times."  (Matthew 18: 21-22). Wow! It will be 490 times a day for forgiveness. Is it impossible? But it is possible with us in God.

       In Mark 11: 25 said, "And when you stand praying, if you hold anything against anyone, forgive him, so that your Father in heaven may forgive you your sins."  Joyce Meyer explained this verse, she said, "forgive, drop and go....). I love her forgiveness explanation. We need to go and make right, or do good (no evil), where there are peace, where there are anointing in faith. So we are the peace makers (Joyce Meyer said)

       When we read Luke 6: 37-38, you will discover judge people, this person has let him (her) go off, it means no forgiveness. Verse 38 said, "Give, and it will be given to you. A good measure, pressed down, shaken together and running over, will be poured into your lap, For with the measure you use, it will be measured to you." It means that you do not forgive others, your Father in Heaven will not forgive you too.

       Luke 11: 2-4 which is Jesus' teaching on prayer, then verse 4 said, "forgive us our sins, for we also forgive everyone who sins against us. (Greek: everyone who is indebted to us) and lead us not into temptation (temptation but deliver us from the evil one.) How's good for forgiveness!

      Jesus means Seventy times Seven equal 490 times daily forgiveness. It is not Jesus' means, he talked 490 times forgiveness, 'NO', he said to Peter, if we can forgive people until 490 times, we have already forgiven them. When we forgive more people, we will forgot to count times.

     Therefore, forgiveness is action to do what is right to God, not yours. If we choose to forgive people who sin against you so much, we shall receive peace and releasing our trash or worry out of our lives. Praise the Lord for forgiveness!



      Forgiveness is a choice to make a right with God, you may not forget events, but you forgive them.

Between Confident and Humble? (3)

Read: Isaiah 40: 29-31; Roman 5: 3-5; James 1: 2-4; Galatians 5: 22-23


....but those who hope in the Lord, will renew their strength.
They will soar on wings like eagles;
they will run and not grow weary,
they will walk and not be faint.
Isaiah 40: 31

       Many people will say that I knew Isaiah 40: 29-31. But the reality, you hope on Jesus who will renew their strength. Because many Christians depend on their own strength, not God.

       You will ask me that the person hopes on Jesus, is it connecting with confidence. Because the confident people who trust on God for every big, small and unseen things. Waiting upon the Lord, it is very difficult for me, I believe that it is hard for you too. If we trust God enough, we will have confidence which appears outside, but humble people are inside out. If the person has confidence in his or herself, not because he or she is not humble. We are human beings who will act the different ways in outside, not inside. Humble shall be from inside to out, then confidence is outside to show you who trust very much, you don't live in fear, but love, peace, faith and hope too.

      "He (God) gives strength to the weary, and increases the power of the weak. Even youths grow tired and weary, and young men stumble and fall..." (V29-30) When we patient for Jesus, you have to put HOPE on him. So that Romans 5: 3-5 said, "Not only so, but we also rejoice in our sufferings, because we know that suffering produces perseverance (the hardest spiritual lesson); perseverance character; and character hope (positive and power thoughts as Joyce Meyer said). And hope does not disappoint us, because God has poured out his love into our hearts by Holy Spirit, whom he (God) has given us." There are clear enough. It is very hard to live as an example as Jesus.

       Last Scripture Verses James 1: 2-4 said, "Consider it pure joy, my brothers, whenever you face trials of many kinds, because you know that the testing of your faith develops perseverance. Perseverance must finish its work so that you may be mature and complete, not lacking anything." These Scripture Verses are very clear and understanding. If we want to be mature and complete, not lacking anything, We need to have Fruit of Spirit which is love, joy, peace (for yourself), patience, kindness, goodness (for other people), faithfulness, gentleness and self-control (for God and yourself). Against such things there is no law. (Galatians 5: 22-23)

      A lot of people seek for the gifts of Spirit, It is very good, we need more desirable fruit of Spirit than those gifts. Because the fruit of Spirit shows your characters as humble, goodness, faithfulness, confidence and self-control... etc.

       Therefore, one coin has two sides, one side is your humble and another is confidence. No one is right or wrong, just we have the different thoughts, but we need to encourage people, not put down on them. We need to have both, that cone will have two sides for two good characters. Praise Jesus who is alive today, tomorrow and future! Amen!



      Show your fruit of Spirit, not only your gifts of Spirit.

Between Confident and Humble? (2)

Read: Psalm 41: 4, 8-12; Habakkuk 3:17-19

Yet I will rejoice in the Lord, I will be joyful in God my Savior.
Habakkuk 3: 17-19


       Today, it is very hard for me, I need to write confidence in God, I was easy to write humble side. The confident Scripture verses, it is everywhere, or nowhere I can see. But he is faithful, I use confidence what I understand in my view. I try my best to present to you, and I do my best, Holy Spirit will finish rest for me. Hallelujah! (Revelation 19) Glory to God.


      I went to Compton's Interactivity Bible DVD for confident or confidence, it comes out many, but I don't want them. Because it is hard to understand all for once. I choose mine. May God bless you today!

      In Bible, Tebah (or Betah or Tibhath) is a city of Syria that David capture and from which he took  great quantity bronze (2 Samuel 8: 8; 1 Chronicles 18: 8), David took the gold shields carried by the officers of Hadadezer and brought them to Jerusalem. (V7) And later used by king Solomon in making furnishings for the temple. (2 Chronicles 5:1) Tebah or Betah or Tibhath is a city which is called confidence. Do you know it?

       When you read Psalm 41 which is a psalm of David. You will feel depression and victory too. David is a emotional person. But he trust God with all his heart, all his soul, all his spirit and all his strength. Hallelujah! Why God has spoken; "David has followed me the whole-heartily." No other men who trust God as David did. I honor God for him. Verse 4, I said, "O Lord, have mercy on me; heal me, for I have sinned against you." And verse 9 said, "Even my close friend, whom I trusted, he who shared my bread, has lifted up his heel against me." Then David continued to say; "But you, O Lord, have mercy on me; raise me up, that I may repay them. I know that you are pleased with me (confident), for my enemy does not triumph over me (confidence). In my integrity you uphold me and set me in your presence forever." (V 10-12)

       When I read Habakkuk 3: 17-19 said, "Though the fig tree does not bud and there are no grapes on the vines, though the olive crop fails and the fields produce no food, though there are no sheep in the pen and no cattle in the stalls, yet I will rejoice in the Lord, I will be joyful in God my Savior. The Sovereign Lord is my strength; he makes my feet like the feet of a deer, he eagles me to go on the heights." If you know the book of Habakkuk, you will understand what he has spoken it. A prophet Habakkuk was complaining to God, he cried out to God for "violence", "injustice", "strife", "conflict",  and "destruction". Habakkuk 1:4 said, "Therefore the law is paralyzed, and justice never prevails. The wicked hem in the righteous, so that justice is perverted."

       After the Lord answer to him (Habakkuk 1: 5-11), then Habakkuk complained second time (V 12-17, 2:1). Then the Lord's answered; "For the revelation awaits an appointed time; it speaks of the end, and will not proved false. Though it linger, wait for it; it (he linger, wait for him;) will certainly come and will not delay. (2: 3) Habakkuk complained twice, God answered him twice. Habakkuk did not understand "Why God used Babylonians (Chaldeans) to punish the Israelites? Because Babylonians were more wicked and violent than Israelites. " God answered him that Babylonians is puffed up, his desires are no upright, but he righteous will live by his faith (faithfulness). (2:4) God will punish wicked Babylonians later (V 6-13, 15-17)  Finally Habakkuk prayed; "Lord, I have heard of your fame; I stand in awe of your deeds, O Lord. Renew them in our day, in our time make them known; in wrath remember mercy. (3:2) Therefore Habakkuk can rejoice in the Lord, even he got nothing. (V 17-18) and verse 19, he has confident and said, " The Sovereign Lord is my strength; he makes my feet like the feet of a deer, he enables me to go on the heights." He has learnt to trust in God, his Savior with confidence.


Rejoice in the Lord, He will give you ability that you can trust in God with confidence!

Between Confident and Humble? (1)

Read: Numbers 12: 3; Psalm 106: 32-33; Exodus 33: 11; Numbers 20: 1-13

Now Moses was a very humble man, more humble than anyone else on the face of the earth.
Numbers 12: 3

By the waters of Meribah they angered the Lord, and trouble come to Moses because of them; for they rebelled against the Spirit of God. and rash words came form Mouses' lips. Psalm 106: 32-33


         Yesterday, my spiritual son told me; "You are not humble...., you have to work in Nane Nane church with this Pastor", I was very upset for his words. Then I went to my God for kneeling and praying, then he told me; "You have a lot of confidence, so that people can't see you with humble person who you are in Christ. It is much important than outside humble, but their hearts are pride." I believe that we can be humble and confident person. I am going to approve with Scripture Verses.

       Today, I use Moses as an example: he is very humble in this earth, and see God face to face, but he was still human being, he lost his temper in Numbers 20: 1-13 written, he spoke a rush word, forgot to obey God in Meribah (quarreling). God told Moses; "take the staff, and you and your brother Aaron gather the assembly together. Speak to that rock before their eyes and it will pour out its water. (V7)" But Moses said to Israelites, "Listen, you rebels, must we bring you water out of this rock?" Then Moses raised his arm and struck the rock twice with his staff. Water gushed out, and the community and their livestock drank. (V10-11)

       Then God said to Moses and Aaron, "Because you did not trust in me enough to honor as holy in the sight of the Israelites, you will not bring this community into the land I give them. (punishment for Moses and Aaron)" God is fair, justice and righteous for all his children.

       Tomorrow will talk about confidence in Christ who we are. Today we see very humble and holy man, Moses who lost his temper and control his lips with rashed words. But God still honor his servant Moses who has served God faithfully. (Numbers 12: 7-8) God said, "with him (Moses, I speak face to face, clearly and not in riddles; he sees the form of the Lord. (12: 7-8) and in Exodus 33:11 said,"The Lord would speak to Moses face to face as a man speaks with his friend. (John 15: 14-15)

      Therefore, we are human beings, we can very humble, so holy as God's friends. But we are not perfect, indeeds, we need Jesus every day, every hour, every minute and every second. No one can judge others, he or she is humble or not, we are not God. Even Moses failed with God's assignment. We are not better than Moses. We need to be careful what we speak, let Holy Spirit corrects others, not us. Let God does his works, not our rush words for condemnation others.


Holy Spirit does correct Christians, the judgements are not us. If you are not one of prophets, you will not judge. and you allow Holy Spirit who does his job well, our jobs are praying for others, obedience  and trust in Him.

Possible with God

Read: Luke 18: 18-30; 1 John 4: 4; Romans 8: 37


The things which are impossible with men are possible with God. Luke 18:27



       Another day, my laptop was broken, it could not start to work, even it turned on, not off. My mind came out; "I have to go to Benq shop in town and I have to buy another laptop, it will cost me more money..... " Then I got another thought, "Why I do not pray for laptop? I know it is dead, I believe Jesus who may raise it up from dead." I had prayed for a few minutes, I turned on, it was not working. I prayed more, then I finally turned my laptop on without any damage. I praise the Lord for my laptop! I shouted out "Hallelujah!" with a loud voice, Jesus is alive!

         When you read Luke 18: 18-30, it talked the rich ruler who wanted to follow Jesus. Jesus told him to keep all the laws, he did all since he was a boy. (V 21) Jesus said to him, "You still lack one thing. Sell everything you have and give to the poor, and you will have treasure in heaven. Then come, follow me." (V 22) When he heard this, he became very sad, because he was a man of great wealth. (V23) The Jesus looked at him and said, "How hard it is for the rich to enter the kingdom of God."

       Those who heard this asked, "Who then can be saved?" (V26) They thought that following Jesus was cost too much, no one can do it. But Jesus replied, "what is impossible with men is possible with God." (V27) No we can, but Jesus have done!

      Many year ago, I got a good job and my life was great. But God has called me as a oversea missionary. I bargained with Him, "Can I support two missionaries, I don't need to out." God said, "You!" I bargained and said," I can support four missionaries in my most salary. and God relied to me and said, "You!" and He continue said, "I don't want your money, I want you to be a missionary." Then I have followed Him since I said, "Yes, the Lord, I will follow you." He had put my in Holy Spirit's fire for many days, I chose to say, "Yes! Sir!"

      1 John 4: 4 said, "You dear children, are from God and have overcome them, because the one who is in you is greater than the one who is in the world." If you see the further Scripture verses, it talked about test the spirit to see whether they are from God. (V1) Then verse four explained that Jesus is in you who are greater than the one (devil) who is in the world.  We are from God and then we have overcome them (false prophets, Antichrists). So that it is possible with God, impossible things which are for human eyes, and we need Holy Spirit who gives us the spiritual eyes. Then we can understand spiritual things and wisdom.

       Romans 8: 37 said, "..... in all these things (trouble or hardship or persecution or famine or nakedness or danger or sword), (therefore) we are more than conquerors through him (Jesus) who loved us. " We are more than conquerors  in Christ Jesus who loves us. I want to shout "Hallelujah!" again. Praise His Name on high! I love you, Jesus, my Lord, my best friend, my husband.... etc.

Man's or Woman's Anger (2)

Read: James 1: 19-21

... for man's anger does not bring about the righteous life that god desires.
James 1: 20

      Yesterday, I had my anger toward to servant maid who had done wrong, but she did not say; "Sorry!" But I chose to pray to God for help, I was sewing my skirt, I could not make right. Then God told me to go to the town. I went out.

      When I returned that I discovered my gate was open wide and my servant girl met her boyfriend. I was angry at her who finally said, "Forgive me!" Later evening, I talked to her, it turned out good and I reconciled with her. Then I discovered that I did not have anger any more, but all understanding peace as I have prayed.

       I love book of James, verse 19 said, ".... Everyone should be quick to listen, slow to speak and slow to become angry." I knew that if I want to kill my anger, I shall pray more and more. It is only solution. Praise the Lord! In reality, "slow to speak and slow to become angry." It is very hard lesson in me. And I do fail from time to time. I also knew verse 20 said, "for man's anger does not bring about the righteous life that God desires." But in reality is very hard. But we can overcome it by Holy Spirit and self-control in Fruit of Spirit. It is taken the life time to learn it. Praise the Lord!

Son or Daughter of Thunder - Anger (1)

Read: Psalm 103: 8; Mark 3: 17; John 2: 13-17

The Lord is compassionate and gracious, slow to anger, abounding in Love.
Psalm 103: 8

       This morning, I discovered that my big water of bucket into my servant maid outside room. This was not first time for her who took my things into her room. I was very very angry. One time, I saw the rice in this big bucket for water and my cooking stick was also into her room. My friend Anna and I went to the market with her, I had showed her the cooking stick for twice, she told me that she did not want to spend money and took me ones. Is it unfair, my Lord, Jesus?

       Later I was so fighting with my anger, I prayed and I has heard his voice and said, "Rebecca, you are right...." I did immediately feel good. I finally knew that he cared right or wrong like me, or I like God. My angry air has gone, because Jesus understood me well.

       I believe that everybody has anger from time to time. I am first one. If I am very very angry, I will be silence and seek God for help. If I am shouting, I will not be angry, but I just want to take the pressure out off me. Therefore I am not perfect and I need Jesus always!

       Many year ago, I researched for dealing my anger, I needed to find any solution which could kill my anger. On day, I read Mark 3: 17 and these words jumped in front of  my eyes and Jesus chose 12 disciples, one of them is John who Boanerges, which means Sons of Thunder), John was exiled and he wrote Revelation which is my favor one of books. John was angry so easy like me, they called him Boanerges which means Sons of Thunder. He was angry like thunder, he was lot of love for God and others (1 John). I shall called myself a daughter of Thunder. And I lost my temper easily. Because I see things which only black and white or wrong and right. I don't have grey areas. I love God so much, I trust him who can handle my angry to his vessel for his purpose. Not because I am angry, I am bad, Jesus loves very much, he sees me differently as others. So that I am worth to be his disciple even I deal my anger from time to time. He loves me who I am.

         Jesus cleared Temple to fulfill Messianic prophecies and fulfilment. Psalm 69: 9 said, "for zeal for your house consumes me, and the insults of those who insult you fall on me." The Scriptures' fulfilment was written on Matthew 21: 12-13; Mark 11:15-17; Luke 19: 45-46; John 2: 13-17. "What did Jesus do with God's temple?"  In John 2: 13-17 said, "Jesus went up to Jerusalem. In the temple courts he bound men selling cattle, sheep and doves and others sitting at tables exchanging money. So he (Jesus) made a ship out of cords, and drove all from the temple ares, both sheep and cattle; he Scattered the coins of the money changers and overturned their tables. To those who sold doves he said, "Get these out of here! How dare you turn my Father's house into a market." His disciples remembered that it is written: "Zeal for your house will consume me." (Psalm 69: 9)

       Jesus had zeal for the house of the Lord, I believe that he was very very angry, but he did not sin. This is what I want to learn from him. I cannot stand at unfair or unjust or unrighteous. I want to do something or speak something. I hope that I will reduce my anger always and I will kill my anger in the Name of Jesus, Amen!


Prayer always kills the anger always!

Peace Kills Anxiety

Read: Philippians 4: 4-13; John 14: 27

Peace I leave with you; my peace I give you. I do not give to you as the world give. Do not let your hearts be troubled and do not be afraid. John 14: 27

You will keep in perfect peace him whose mind is steadfast, because he trusts in you. Isaiah 26: 3

       Many people take the sleeping pills for a good sleeping night. They live in the anxious life from time to time. We are Christians, we are not different from others, but we got anxious and worried, we can pray to our Lord, Jesus. In Philippians 4: 6-7 said, "Do not be anxious about anything, but in everything, by prayer and petition with thanksgiving, present your requests to God. And the peace of God which transcends all understanding, will guard your hearts and your minds in Christ Jesus."

       Above two verses which told that we need to pray to God for our anxious thoughts. Joyce Meyer said; "Our mind is a battle field and we can be the positive power thoughts." We can choose us to be, or not to be. We can transformation our minds to be godly and spiritual ones. And praise the Lord! We can do everything through Jesus Christ who gives us strength. (Philippians 4: 13)

        Then we will learn as Apostle Paul who said, "I  have learned to be content whatever the circumstances. I know what it is to be in need, and I know what it is to have plenty. I have learned the secret of being content in any and every situation, whether well fed or hungry, whether living in plenty or in want. (V 11b-12) I believe personally that if the person is being content for every situation, he or she is much happier than others and more peace than another. Because Peace kills Anxiety. It cannot exist at same time, you choose one or hate one.

       May God bless you with all understanding peace in you, be content for the Lord and rejoice in the Lord always. Amen!

My God, My God, why have you forsaken Me?

Read: Matthew 27: 45-46; 1 Kings 19: 10; 14; Joshua 1: 5; 1 Kings 9: 57; Hebrews 13: 5b; Deuteronomy 31: 6

... because God has said, "Never will I leave you; never will I forsake you." Hebrews 13: 5b

       Jesus prayed that the Father will take away the cup (go on the cross), yet not as I will, but as you will. he had knelt down and prayed for three times (Matthew 26: 36-42). He found his three favorite disciples John, Peter and James fell sleep, Jesus told them; "Watch and pray so that you will not fall into temptation. The spirit is willing, but the body is weak." (V41) When Jesus went away a second time and prayed, "My Father, if it is not possible for this cup to be taken away unless I drink it, may your will be done." (V42)

      Jesus is the Son of God, when he went up the cross, that was unbearable pain and hopeless. He have never known that this cup was very difficult to drink from it. but He obeyed the will of Father. The reality,  from the sixth hour until the ninth hour darkness came over all the land. About ninth hour Jesus cried out in a loud voice, "Elai, Elai, (Eli, Eli) lama sabachthani?"  - which means, "My God; my God, why have you forsaken me?"  (Matthew 27: 45-46)

         "Because he himself (Jesus) suffered when he was tempted, he is able to help those who are being tempted." (Hebrews 2: 18) If Jesus did not go on the cross, there would have no  more resurrection power .  (Matthew 28)

        We will be like Jesus who cried out in loud voice said; "My God, My God, why have you forsaken me?" The voice of God has always spoken "The Lord himself goes before you and will be with you; he will never leave you nor forsake you. Do not be afraid; do not be discouraged." (Deuteronomy 31:8)

        The word of the Lord came to him; "What are you doing her, Elijah?" He replied, "I have been very zealous for the Lord God Almighty. The Israelites have rejected your covenant, broken down your altars, and put your prophets to death with sword. I am the only one left, and now they are trying to kill me too." ( 1 Kings 19: 10, 14) God appeared to Elijah, not in the powerful wind, not in earthquake and not in the fire. And after the fire came a gentle whisper. (V11-13) Finally God gave Elijah the new assignments (V15-17) and he said, "Yet I reserve seven thousand in Israel - all whose knees have not bowed down to Baal and all whose mouths have not kissed him." (V18)

       Today, we are blessed by our Lord, he still says, "I have never leave you, nor forsake you." as his promise.


Take God's challenge today and God will promise you that he has never leave you, nor forsake you.

Fasting and Praying (2)

Read: Isaiah 58

The Lord will guide you always; he will satisfy your needs in a sun-scorched land and will strengthen your frame. You will be like a well-watered garden like a spring whose waters never fail. Isaiah 58: 11



         Today I will explain the Isaiah 58 whole chapter. Sorry for absent yesterday, I was travelling back from Arusha to Morogoro. I was so tired to write one topic. I hope that you will forgive me. I am going to write one devotion daily, I hope that I promise you in God. And I hope that here will not too many accidents, so that I will not excuse at all. Thank you for your patience in Jesus! I am grateful and appreciated and thanks again!

(1) Fasting & Praying day, but you are doing evil
      (verse 3-4)

       "Yet on the day of your fasting, you do as you please and exploit all your workers. Your fasting ends in quarreling and strife, and in striking each other with wicked fists. you cannot fast as you do today and expect your voice to be hears on high."  (V 3-4)In fact, they were fasting and praying, but they were doing evil things to others. They asked God that why they were fasting and praying, God did not answer their requirements.

(2) Fasting & praying are free from any yoke. (V6)

       " Is not this the kind of fasting I have chosen: to loose the chains of injustice and untie the cords of the yoke, to set the oppressed free and break every yoke?" It is a purpose for fasting and praying to God. We shall do this way as God hopes.

(3) God has compassion and mercy. (V 7)

       "Is it not to share your food with the hungry and to provide the poor wanderer with shelter - when you see the naked, to clothe him. and not to turn away from your own flesh and blood?" God wants to his children who have the right fasting and praying which are showing their compassion and mercy for the poor wanderer with food, shelter... etc. If you can not do in the less brother or sister, you are not doing in me (God), you are a goat, not a sheep.

(4) God's healing and guiding. (V 8, 10a)

       "Then your light will break forth like the dawn, and your healing will quickly appear; then your righteousness will go before you. and the glory of the Lord will be your rear guard." and "The Lord will guide you always." How wonderful our God. He will bring healing and he will guide your as right path, he will walk in front of you, you just need to follow his steps. He is also rear guard, he makes sure, no one will attack you from behind. We thank God for those good protection and quideness.


(5) He answers your prayer.

       " Then you will call and the Lord will answer; you will cry for help, and he will say; here am I." "If you do away with the yoke of oppression, with the pointing finger and malicious talk..." God likes to answer our prayer, even we have not spoken out, but he knew. He wants to bless us with all our needs. But he will say; " Here am I." If we need him. but we have stopped sin against our Lord, Jesus. You can not sin over and over, there are no sacrifice for sin left, but only a fearful expectation of judgment and of raging fire that will consume the enemies of God. (Hebrews 10: 26-31)

(6) Feed hunger and clothe naked.

     ".... and if you spend yourselves in behalf of the hungry and satisfy the needs of the oppressed, then your light will rise in the darkness, and your night will become like the noonday." We are the presenters from God to feed hunger with food, thirsty with water, and the clothes for the naked people. We are doing for the Lord!

(7) God will be feeding well in your body, sould and
       spirit.

       "... he will satisfy your needs in a sun-scorched land and will strengthen your frame. You will be like a well-watered garden, like a spring whose waters never fail." We are well feeding, we are not never thirsty and hungry again as verse says. Then Psalm 1: 2-3 said, "But his delight is in the law of the Lord (Word of God), and on his law he meditates day and night. He is like a tree planted by streams of wather, whcih yields it fruit in season and whose leaf does not wither. whatever he does prospers."  God has promised us to live in the word of God with meditates day and night. He will feed us well in the body (health), soul (right thought) and spirit (fruit of spirit and gifts of spirit within us).

(8) We are Restorner,  Rebuilder and Repairer for
        the Kingdom of  God.

      "Your people will rebuild the ancient ruins and will raise up the age-old foundations; you will be called Repairer of Broken Walls, Restorner of Streets with Dwelling."  God has called us as "Repairer of Broken walls, Restorner of streets with Dwelling."

       Are you blessing by God today? I am so blessed by his words which are growing in me daily. I hope that you are also. See you tomorrow!

Fasting and Praying (1)

Read: Isaiah 58

Is not this kind of fasting I have chosen; to loose the chain of injustice and untie the cords of the yoke, to set the oppressed free and break every yoke?



         Many people have had fasting and praying to the Lord for their own benefit, but not the Kingdom of God. They used fasting and praying with suffering of body to achieve the goal their desires as a Pharisee.

I list the fasting & praying methods:

1. Objective fasting and praying - clarify or   
     specific. It is for leadership, or elder, or home
     church will multiply, or new home leadership for
     home group, or the burden in your heart to God
      for this person, or nation of Guatemala or 
     Tanzania or India for reviving; or help for your
     own needs or others, or financial supply.

2.  Prepare yourself  in the Holy Spirit, repentance
       for your own sin; or restore the land for God's
      help.

3.  Prepare yourself  for what king of food we eat.  
      (Thinking of the Lord) Daniel and his three
       friends did vegetable and water fasting and
       praying. On of my SOFM (School of Frontier
      Mission) classmates used no meat fasting, only
      eating vegetable for one week. God does not care
      which way you eat, he cares your heart firstly.

4. What kinds of  fasting and praying - No food,
     water (total fasting or dry fasting);  just water
     (best fasting); or water, juice and light soup; or
     vegetable fasting as before points. (Seek to the
     Lord).

5. You have limit physical activity - more rest, not
     over excises, or must to learn how to rest.

6.  Asking your doctor before you starting - if you
      are in medication, you are better keep
      medication and do fasting next time. Or you stop
      medication with faith and do the fasting.

7.  You use all time you can to seek the face of the
      Lord. Raising a heart what does God want you
      to pray. (Personal praying lists are between you
      and God.

God looks into your heart, not what kinds of fasting and praying you do!
