Lamentations 3: 22-26
He sends from heaven and save me, rebuking those who hotly pursue me; God sends his love and his faithfulness. Psalm 57: 6
Yesterday, at Disciple Gospel Center, I led praise, worship, Bible story: Peter walks on water and crafts with Christmas photos' frames. Praise the Lord! God is good all time!
Today, we will look into Psalm 57 which concerns En Gedi when Saul was caught in his own trap. We will read 1 Samuel 24: 3 said, "He (Saul) came to the sheep pens along the way; a cave was there, and Saul went in to relieve himself. David and his men were far back in the cave." That event, David wrote Psalm 57 which was time when he had fled from Saul into the cave, then he gave the director of music and to the tune of "Do not destroy." Let's us to see those principles in Psalm 57 blow:
(1) Mercy of God, I takes refuge in him. (V 1-2)
"Have mercy on me, O God, have mercy on me, for in you my soul takes refuge. I will take refuge in the shadow of your wings until the disaster has passed." I love the verse which said, "I (David) will take refuge in the shadow of your (God's) wings until the disaster has passed." You think that David was a cave dweller, he had no way to go, and Saul and his followers would kill him any moment. David has never doubt with God who can not save. He knew that he hid in God's wings in the safe place for him.
(2) God rebukes evil and but he sends his love and
his faithfulness. (V3)
"He sends from heaven and saves me, rebuking those who hotly pursue me; God sends his love and his faithfulness." God sends to save David from heaven, he rebukes those who pursue David hotly and sending his love and his faithfulness down. In Lamentations 3: 22-26 said, "Because of the Lord's great love we are not consumed, for his compassions never fail. They are new every morning; great is your faithfulness. I (Jeremiah) say to myself, "The Lord is my portion; therefore I will wait for him." The Lord is good to those whose hope is in him, to the one who seeks him; it is good to wait quietly for the salvation of the Lord." Wow! the Word of God has power, then be still and know that I am God. (Psalm 46:10)
(3) David's foes who kill him with tongues and
action.
"I am in the midst of lions; I lie among ravenous beasts- men whose teeth are spears and arrows, whose tongues are sharp swords." The lions, ravenous beasts were said; "they were Saul and his followers." Their tongues are sharp swords, as lions ate David and he laid among them whose teeth are spears and arrows, they would cut or kill David at the right time. How did David do? Tomorrow, we will continue to read Psalm 57: 5-11.
They are new every morning;
great is your faithfulness.
