Focus on Cross of Jesus!
Read: Psalm 18; 2 Samuel 7: 1; 2 Samuel 22;
Colossians 1: 9
The Lord is my rock, my fortress and my deliverer; my God is my rock, in whom I take refuge. He is my shield and the horn (strength) of my salvation, My stronghold.
Psalm 18: 1-2
Yesterday, I was shopping all Forest children Chrismas gifts. I took one girl Jackie who is a leader of the children at Disciple Gospel Center. After that all Forest children came and took the rest on the living room's floor. Then they cleaned outside and cut grasses for me. Praise the Lord!
At Christmas is to celebrate Jesus who was born for our salvation. There are peace, joy and hope. I love Christmas and those gifts to other or for me only. Today we will know Psalm 18: 1-6 and 2 Samuel 7:1 which repeated in 2 Samuel 22. Psalm 18 explained David is the servant of the Lord, He sang to the Lord the words of this song when the Lord delivered him from the hand of all his enemies and from the hand of Saul. He said.
In 2 Samuel 7: 1 said, Elisha said, "Hear the word o the Lord. This is what the Lord says; About this time tomorrow, a seah (about 7.3 liters) of flour will sell for a shekel (about 11 grams) and two seahs (about 15 liters) of barley for a shekel (about 11 grams) at the gate of Samaria." Elisha delivered the Word of the Lord to Samaritans. It had matched the song of David in Psalm 18.
Psalm 18 has 50 verses, we have to finish all principles, and we will take a time to meditate them and practice with them. Paul encouraged Colossians with his prayer. In Colossians 1: 9 said, "For this reason, since the day we heard about you (Colossians), we have not stopped praying for you and asking God to fill you with the knowledge of his will through all spiritual wisdom and understanding. Wow! We need Spiritual wisdom and understanding of Word of God. It is revelations of God. Praise the Lord for those Revelations!
There are principles in Psalm 18:1-6; as below:
(1) The Lord is everything to David and us. (V 1-2)
"The Lord is my rock, my fortress and my deliverer; my God is my rock in whom I take refuge. He is my shield and the horn (strength) of my salvation, my stronghold." God is David's everything, He is my everything too. He is my rock, my fortress, my deliverer, my rock, my refuge, my shield, my strength, my salvation, my stronghold, my best friend, my husband, my Lord and He is everything to me!
(2) God is worthy of our praise (V 2)
"I call to the Lord, who is worthy of praise, and I am saved from my (David's) enemies." God is worthy to our praise and He saves us from our trouble and hard lives.
(3) David had faced dead, not alive chance. (V 4-5)
"The cords of death entangled me; the torrents of destruction overwhelmed me. The cord of grave (Sheol) coiled around me; the snares of death confronted me." Maybe your life is like David, you may face financial and family troubles. but God is real. And Maybe you face the cancer or other sickness, you are no way out, you don't see your hope, read Psalm 18: 1-2 again, again and again until you have faith to stand with God who will deliver your problems in His time.
(4) David cried or called to God for help. (V 6)
"In my distress I called to the Lord; I cried to my God for help. From his temple he heard my voice; my cry came before him, into his ears." David had a hope in God who would listen his cry and hear his calling for help. He was sure God heard his voice. How about you? Do you pray for your distress, and pray to Jesus for help and you have faith to believe that He has heard all your prayer in His Name, Amen! I believe in my heart, how about you?
Nothing is impossible for God!
