David in his Psalms - Psalm 56 (B)

Read: Psalm 56: 7-13

In God, whose word I praise, in the Lord, whose word I praise -
in God I trust; I will not be afraid. What can man do to me?
Psalm 56: 10-11

Yesterday, it was the darkest day in my life in Africa. Because I could not see God's just and right among Africans. I have mentioned before, my servant maid who ran away, after three days, she came with one sister and one pastor, she has worked for 20 days, but she asked me for two months salary. If I don't give her, this sister said, "Next time, I will take a policeman and lock in you in the prison." I was so afraid of their words. But I have chosen to Trust in Jesus. It has brought me freedom.

(5) David asked God for judgement. (V7)

"On no account let them escape; in your anger, O God, bring down the nations." David urged God who will judge all and bring the nations down with his righteous anger. They can't escape their sins and God account their sins and judge them.

(6) Remember David. (V8)

"Record my lament; list my tears on your scroll  (put my tears in your wineskin) - are they not in your record?" David asked God to remember him.

(7) God is for David who calls for help. (V9)

"Then my enemies will turn back when I call for help. By this I will know that God is for me." When the problem comes and David calls for help from God. He confirms that God is for him as he know.

(8) Praise and Trust. (V 10-12)

"In God, whose word I praise, in the Lord, whose word I praise - in God I trust I will not be afraid. What can man do to me? I am under vows to you, O God; I will present my thanks offerings to you." David trusts God enough, he can praise him and he knows who he is in God and he offers his thanks for what God has done! Trust God takes all fear away.

(9) God has delivered David from death. (V13)
"For you have delivered me (my soul) from death and my feet from stumbling, that I may walk before God in the light of life (the land of the living)." David knew that God will deliver him from death and his feet from stumbling into his enemies plans, he may walk before God in the land of the living, not dead. Praise the Lord!

Tomorrow, we will focus on David  in his Psalms, there are 14 of them in his history. I have encouraged my heart by David's words. How about you?

Trust God with all you heart, all your soul, all your spirit and all your strength.
