David in his Psalms - Psalm 51 (B)

My Car has been broken down

Read: Psalm 51: 7-12; Proverbs 17: 22; Psalm 103: 8

Create in me a pure heart, O God, and renew a steadfast spirit within me. Do not cast me from your presence, or take your Holy Spirit from me. Restore to me the joy of your salvation and grant me a willing spirit to sustain me.
Psalm 51: 10-12

Christian sister Tumaini and I had gone to Nairobi in Kenya for four days. My Internet was not working there. So I was absent for many days. I am sorry for all. I came back Arusha in Tanzania. Steve brother and host brother will look for a huge truck which can carry my broken car into it. I pray that it will be cheaper for me and God will make a way for me where seem no way. Because I trust in God completely.

Today we will continue Psalm 51: 7-12 for more principles as below:

(4) Cleanse David who would be clean. (V 7)

"Cleanse me with hyssop, and I will be clean; wash me, and I will be whiter than snow."  David knew that God would take away his quilt. Hyssop is religion sign, David knew that God will wash or clean him, his conscience will be whiter than snow. Then God will take his shame and quilt away by God's forgiveness. If God can forgive us, why we can not forgive ourselves, we are still living in the darkness.

(5) Restore David's joy. (V 8)

"Let me hear joy and gladness; let the bones you have crushed rejoice." The sins had crushed David so badly, he lived in sorrow until God's forgiveness. Then he will rejoice again. In proverbs 17: 22 said, "A cheerful (merry) heart is good medicine, but a crushed spirit dries up the bones." The laughing is good medicine to heal you crushed heart, soul, body and your spirit.

(6) Forgiveness. (V 9)

"hide your face from my sins and blot out all my iniquity." David was looking for forgiveness from God. He hope that God will not turn his face away from him, but he blot out all his iniquity. So that he can be free. We can be free by God's forgiveness.

(7) Create in David a pure heart and renew his
       spirit. (V 10)

"Create in me a pure heart, O God, and renew a steadfast spirit within me." David knew his guilty heart, God will create a new and pure one, He will also renews his spirit which will support him steadfast. We don't need to live the quilt, but we ask God for forgiveness where are freedom for us. We are free from the bondage of sins.

(8) Restore Holy Spirit within David. (V 11)

"Do not cast me from your presence, or take out Holy Spirit from me." David will stay at the presence of God, not because of his sins, God will cast out Holy Spirit within him, but God will restore David's spirit. God is the Lord who is compassionate and gracious, slow to anger, abounding in love. (Psalm 103: 8) We need to thank God for all our wrong doings.

(9) Restore joy and a willing spirit. (V 12)

"Restore to me the joy of your salvation and grant me a willing spirit to sustain me." David prayed to God for the joy of his salvation and God will grant him a willing spirit to sustain him. I pray to God every day, I ask God who will grant me a willing spirit, a lot of joy, grateful heart and loved heart towards others, then I want to have top and priority relationship with him, other things come after my God. Thank you for listening our prayer!

Tomorrow we will finish Psalm 51, may God light up your merry day with gracious, mercy and grace as your potion for today. Amen!
